Every year we must contact all households in Southwark to update the electoral register. Find out what information we need and what you need to do.

How we will contact you about the annual canvass

From July 2025 we will be contacting households in different ways and not all residents will receive communication from us at the same time.

You may be contacted:

  • by email and/or text message from ‘Southwark Electoral Services’
  • by post
  • by telephone
  • in-person

We may not use your name

The canvass communication may not be addressed to you. This is to help us identify who should be registered to vote at your address. We address it to a ‘resident’ because the person or people that we have registered may no longer live at the property.
