Annual canvass

Every year we must contact all households in Southwark to update the electoral register. Find out what information we need and what you need to do.

How to respond to the annual canvass

Please respond straightaway to help us reduce the cost of contacting our residents. If we do not receive a quick response, by law we must send a reminder.

We are asking for a response from every household, even if you're already registered to vote.

To confirm or update the details for your household visit the household response website and enter both parts of the security code from the information you have received.

If you have questions about how to respond, email electoral.enquiries@southwark.gov.uk

If there are no changes

If you have no changes to make, you can also respond by:

  • texting NOCHANGE followed by Part 1 and Part 2 of your security code to 07893 939 113 (standard charges apply)
  • calling 07893 939 113 and when prompted enter part 1 and part 2 of your security code

If you get a reminder form after you have responded

It takes a few days to print, send and deliver reminder forms. Sometimes reminders have been printed and sent out before your updated information has reached us.

How we use the data we collect

You should include your email address and phone number, but you do not have to. We will only use this information in connection with your registration. It also helps us to contact you if there is a problem.

By accessing the electoral services data privacy notice you can find out more:

  • about the data we collect
  • how the data is used
  • who the data is shared with
