Hazardous, clinical and electrical waste

Find out how to safely and legally get rid of waste that can be harmful. Book a hazardous waste collection.

Electrical waste

You must not put electrical waste in your household bins. They can cause fires, damage our recycling machinery and are a health and safety risk to our workers.

Electricals are any item with a plug, cable or battery. They're made with valuable resources like oil, gold, and copper. If they're not recycled these resources are lost. Making new electricals also contributes to climate change.

Electrical waste is the fastest growing type of waste in the UK. Recycle your electrical waste and you'll be doing your bit for the planet.

Donate

You can donate laptops, smartphones and tablets at any Southwark library or the Southwark Reuse and Recycle Centre.

Community TechAid will securely wipe the data and repair them before donating them to people who are digitally excluded.

Sell

You can extend the life of your old items by selling them on the secondhand market in exchange for cash or shop credits.

Find out more about selling your electricals from the Recycle Your Electricals website.
