Denmark Hill improvement works
Improvements to walking, cycling and public transport facilities
Changes are being made along Denmark Hill to the bus lanes and pedestrian crossing facilities between Champion Hill and Sunray Avenue. These changes include widening the bus lane to 4.5m (where possible) and replacing the staggered crossing with a straight crossing on a raised table.
Scheme objectives
- improve journey times for passengers using the 42, 68 and 468 bus routes
- improve conditions for cyclists
- improve crossing conditions for pedestrians
- reduce conflict with other vehicle types and improve safety for all road users
