Japanese Knotweed

Japanese Knotweed spreads extremely quickly, prevents native plant life from growing and can damage structures due to its strong roots. It can reach up to 3 metres high and is bamboo like in appearance. Its leaves are heart shaped and it produces white flowers in the autumn months.

If you have Japanese Knotweed on your property we can help you but we will charge you for the service. After reporting it we will contact you to discuss the requirements for treatment and disposal.

Charge for the service: starts at £92.00 and can increase depending on the level of infestation and type of treatment required.

To request Japanese Knotweed removal, contact our Environment Services

Removal services will be closed from 1 November 2017 and will resume on 1 March 2018
Do not try and cut it down, mow it or trim it. This will just spread the weed
Do not dispose of it in the general waste bins or mix it with other green waste. It has to be removed and disposed of by a licenced waste control operator
