Southwark Streets for People Cycle Fest

Following the successful event last year, Cycle Fest returns to Burgess Park on 6th July to showcase all things cycling in Southwark. There will be a choice of led rides from JoyRiders, free cycle checks and services from Community Cycle Works, a second hand bike market from Peddle My Wheels as well as the chance to try out one of the OurBike e-cargo bikes. The Police will be marking bikes for free and there will be various activities for children. The public health van will also be there...

Description

Taking place opposite the BMX track off Albany Road within Burgess Park, this will be the second year the council celebrates the wonderful, free support anyone who lives, works or studies in Southwark can access. It is the only time in the year when all the partners come together to share the work they do and offer advice and support to those looking to start cycling, get back into it after time away or for those looking to make it a more integral part of their lives. Whether you are looking to cycle for fitness, fun or transport, it is a great opportunity to meet those delivering free support in the borough and to find out more about how to get involved. There will be three led ride options this year, offering a ride to suit all abilities and fitness levels. We will also be joined by the Friends of Burgess Park, talking about their plans for the area and riders from Wheels for Wellbeing will be riding up from Herne Hill to join the fun in the morning and showcasing the options for those that require accessible cycles. If you do not currently have a bike, Peddle My Wheels will be able to offer options for hire or purchase through discounted vouchers and a bike market. If you already have a bike, why not ride over and join one of the family-friendly led rides and let the children join in some of the skills sessions?
