THIS EVENT: Sunday – Closing Programme – Sunday 2nd November – 12pm-4pm

#SLACfest 2025 will close with a bang with a Sunday programme featuring two major panels, placing a spotlight on the creative landscape in Sierra Leone and its diaspora, as well as connecting the dots more broadly across the African continent.

Our first panel of the day, ‘Sierra Leone’s Creative Landscape’, will explore the services and infrastructures that need to be in place for the Sierra Leonean creative, both at home and in the diaspora, to thrive. What is currently missing? What can we build ourselves? How do we develop a strong ecosystem that lasts the test of time? How do we strengthen our cultural currency and inspire the next generation of creative talent? We’ll explore these questions and more.

Our second panel of the day, ‘Africa Beyond Borders’, will explore how we can connect the dots as African creatives in the Motherland and the African diaspora, using our African heritage as inspiration and a guiding light for our work. As well as seeking to amplify Sierra Leonean arts and culture, we know Sierra Leone is part of a larger story. How can we as a collective boldly step into the future, learning from the past, taking action in the present, using our gifts and talents to give back to our continent and be ambassadors wherever we go? Where are we drawing inspiration from? How can we collaborate more deeply? Where do we go next, together?

As with Day 1, expect entertainment woven in across the day.

You will also be able to enjoy delicious Sierra Leonean cuisine, explore our ‘Small Markit’, full of vendors selling Sierra Leonean and African Diaspora-inspired wares, and view our exhibition, featuring photography by talented Sierra Leonean artists from London to Freetown and beyond.
