The Rose That Grew
Written and Directed by Olamide Ajisafe
A group of young people complete their Duke of Edinburgh hours at a local community garden centre, but the work soon gives way to deeper discoveries. As they plant, dig, and banter, we journey through the trials and tribulations of their lives — from grief and mental health to friendship, purpose, and growing up in a world that rarely slows down. Tender, honest, and grounded in youth, this is a story about finding growth in unexpected places.
BLAQ CARD
Written by Adiel Boboye
A sharp, satirical office comedy where race, capitalism, sexism, and corporate culture collide. When a new Black employee joins a surreal and smiling workplace, he’s handed the elusive “Blaq Card” — a symbolic key to navigating a system built to exclude. With biting humour and theatrical flair, BLAQ CARD skewers tokenism, diversity quotas, and the exhausting politics of fitting in.
Together, these two original plays form ROUTES - a theatre experience capturing the quiet and chaotic ways we survive, adapt, and grow.
