NEXT Choreography is a 6-month course for people aged 18–25 who want to experiment with dance and choreography.

Formal dance training isn’t required to take part, but an interest in exploring movement, dance and choreographic practice is key.

This is a publicly contributed event and not a council event. If you would like, you can submit your own event and have it appear on our website (subject to review).

Description

NEXT is a 6-month course for people aged 18–25, with and without dance experience, who want to experiment with dance and choreography. Participants will be introduced to different practices through workshops with guest artists and will travel together to see performances and exhibitions around London. The course ends with a 2-day take over of the building where the NEXT artists present their work.

The course will be co-held by Annie Pui Ling Lok and Kat Bridge, Co-Artistic Directors at SDS, with producers Nancy May Roberts and Sophie Brassard.

NEXT Choreography will take place between September 2025 – March 2026. Term 1 runs from 23 September – 9 December 2025 and term 2 from 6 January – 24 March 2026.

Additional Dates:

  • London Visits: The group will be given free tickets to events in Autumn 2025 (dates TBC).
  • Workshop Weekend: 29/30 November (12 – 5pm TBC)
  • Public Performances: 20 March (Tech Day) + 21/22 March. Participants should be available from 10am – 10pm on these 3 days

We have two parking places that can be booked in advance. Priority will be given to disabled users.
Our Studios are in an Ultra Low Emission Zone, please note you may be liable to pay the daily fee.
By tube
Nearest tube: Elephant & Castle, London South Bank University exit.

Accessibility

Siobhan Davies Studios is mostly accessible to wheelchair users, with lifts to all floors. Our main door is power assisted.

There are two accessible parking spaces available on site which can be booked in advance. Blue Badge parking is also available nearby on West Square and Garden Row (for a full map visit the Southwark Council website).

  • Communal showers*
  • Lockers
  • Toilets / wheelchair accessible toilets on the ground floor and first floor*
  • Kitchen: tea and coffee making, fridge, dishwasher and microwave

* Please note that our disabled toilets may not be suitable for all users (the toilets in our disabled toilets are 42cm high) and our changing facilities and showers are not fully accessible. Our closest publicly available and fully accessible changing facility is at The Castle Centre, a leisure centre 0.3 miles away from the studios. You can find full details of their features here.
