Mrs Dalloway, 100 years on - Southwark Heritage Centre and Walworth Library
A talk to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway, exploring the novel through an LGBTQ+ lens

Date
to
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway, the talk will explore the novel through an LGBTQ+ lens, highlighting its themes of identity, desire, and societal expectations. Taking place during Pride Month, the event invites attendees to reflect on the subtle yet powerful representations of non-heteronormative relationships in Woolf’s work, particularly the dynamic between Clarissa Dalloway and Sally Seton, as well as Septimus’s emotional isolation as a gay soldier.
This event contributes to the broader celebrations of Mrs Dalloway’s centenary, alongside other events happening in London throughout May and June.
