Description

Join Blue Elephant Theatre in Burgess Park on July 25th and 26th!

Blue Elephant Theatre is marking the start of the summer holidays with two days of creativity! The festival features some of our favourite performances, alongside drama and crafts workshops run by our facilitators.

The festival will be near the tennis courts in Burgess Park. (WhatThreeWords: light.gasp.ally)

Performances include:

Ana & Silly - a interactive show for young children about transitions and friendship. Ana the Squirrel is not happy to hear that she will be starting school tomorrow - that will upset her whole schedule! Luckily, Silly the Squirrel is on hand to make her feel better. There will be three performances of Ana & Silly on Friday 25th July, including one in Spanish.

The Story Wizard - Alchemise Theatre bring their improvised children's theatre show to Fun in the Park on Friday 25th. Come and draw a character, a location or a magical object and watch as the story wizards bring them to life. Featuring clown games, songs, and storytelling, The Story Wizard is the show where a magical spell turns your drawings into a story adventure...

Way Back When - a short play about the Windrush Generation. Meet Grandma and Alex as Grandma relives some of the memories of her youth. Way Back When has been performed dozens of times to hundreds of people since it was first created for Black History Month 2019. Offering the chance to join a game of cricket, hear an Anansi story and dance like you're at Carnival, it's perfect Saturday afternoon enternatinment.

It's a completely free event, funded by Southwark's Cultural Celebrations Fund.
