CreativeLab
Develop your choreographic practice with CreativeLab - a dynamic, week-long intensive for young D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, and non-disabled people aged 16-25 who are passionate about dance!

Date
CreativeLab is an intensive for young, disabled and non-disabled people, aged 16-25 – designed to support them in developing their own choreographic voice. Over the course of one week, you’ll be challenged to explore what choreography is – and what it can become. Offering a space to be bold and experiment, CreativeLab will allow you to discover new ways of moving, expressing ideas, and making art that reflects who you are.
Delivered by Candoco artists and guest makers, CreativeLab offers a supportive space to create original material, both independently and in collaboration with other young makers. You’ll delve into a range of choreographic methods and techniques while being encouraged to push the boundaries of your practice and bring your most authentic ideas to life.
You’ll also have opportunities to connect with established dance companies and independent artists, gaining valuable insight into the diverse pathways a dance career can take.
CreativeLab is for young disabled and non-disabled people (of all backgrounds and experience) who have a deep commitment to developing their choreographic practice. It’s more than a learning programme – it’s a launchpad to grow, experiment, and evolve as an artist. Whether you’re just beginning your journey into choreography or looking to deepen your existing skills, this is your opportunity to turn your passions into professional experience.
If you’d like to learn more and to join the intensive, please visit the CreativeLab page on candoco.co.uk and apply via the Online Application Form (link below). Applications will close Monday, 8 December, 5 pm (GMT). Candoco will be in contact after this date to confirm if you have a place.
