Community Mural

Are you a local resident of Southwark council ? Would you enjoy creating a large scale artwork? On the 5th of July, this free , all day workshop will be facilitated by community coordinator Ayiesha Sankoh & artist Lulu Williams for local residents of Southwark Council !

This is a publicly contributed event and not a council event. If you would like, you can submit your own event and have it appear on our website (subject to review).

During this workshop you will create a large scale community mural that will be displayed on Stage Gallery for the month of July. All materials will be supplied !

Lulu and Ayiesha will begin the workshop with a relaxed brain storming session to help generate shapes , colours and patterns & composition for the mural. After a short lunch break, you will return to begin painting the mural with the help of prompts & direction from Lulu & Ayiesha. Expect paint rollers, bright colours, pastels, collage & much more

This is for members of Southwark council to have a fun day expressing themselves. No prior artistic experience is required - beginners are encouraged ! This is appropriate for all ages , however children under 14 please attend with adult supervision.

How to get there

By bus
Stage Gallery is located within Set Social Peckham. Once reaching The White Horse pub, you will see an open black gate across the road with an A board placed outside. Walk through the gate!
By train
Transport - The nearest station is Peckham Rye, this station does not have lifts. The nearest station with lifts is East Dulwich. There are many bus stops close to the venue.

Accessibility

Accessible Entrance: Set Social has a ramp leading to a fire exit door. ( ramp/chairlift for Stage Gallery still to be installed)

Bathroom: An accessible bathroom, which can be opened with a radar key, is located outside the venue up a ramp. It is equipped with grab bars and adequate space for manoeuvrability. We supply sanitary products.
 
Assistance Animals: Service animals are welcome inside the venue.
