Description

How can tours enable us to notice and appreciate our built environment and more fully inhabit the spaces we live in and places we traverse? What is a renegade guide? What makes a tour? Who decides which stories get shared? How can we make tours more inclusive and accessible? Are there other ways we can preserve and share stories of people and places at risk of being lost forever?

Join author Saira Niazi (Living London) to hear about her new Renegade Guides handbook, a resource filled with practical advice, stories, and a manifesto for people interested in the art of tour guiding. We will be discussing both the book and Saira's career, with time for the audience to ask questions and discuss their own experience. Chapters in the guide include: “The Truth About Places”, “Community Archiving” and “A Love Letter to Public Transport”.

Booking on Eventbrite is not required to attend, but it is recommended to hear about any updates to the event.
