Pilates for improvers

This course is suitable for those who want to improve their practice.
You'll gain increased awareness of how the balance and control of the body can benefit other areas of your life.
What you’ll learn
You'll learn how to:
- set up your body for safe and effective exercise
- focus your mind on your body
- efficiently and effectively mobilise joints, strengthen muscles and increase flexibility
- adapt the level of challenge to suit your ability
How the course is taught
You'll exercise mostly on a mat. We will also use small equipment such as balls and bands to aid our practice, add variety and also to add challenge to some exercises.
The instructor will observe you to make sure you carry out exercises correctly and safely.
They will monitor health and safety.
What you'll need
You should wear comfortable clothing which allows for full body movement and bring a bottle of water.
After the course
You can enrol on one of our other fitness courses. You will have increased confidence to join classes in the community or in local leisure centres.
