Southwark Youth Guarantee

Southwark youth guarantee

We want every young person in Southwark to have something to do when they leave school. We have opportunities for every school leaver who wants to learn, work or train.

All young people need to be in full time education or training until they're 18, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay in school. You could:

  • stay in full-time education, which includes studying at an FE college, school sixth form or home education
  • do an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • take on part-time education or training if you're employed, self-employed or volunteering for at least 20 hours per week

Remember, staying in education or training longer will increase your chances of getting and keeping the job you want.

See Southwark Choices to find out what you can do or have a look at the Post 16 brochure (pdf, 4.5mb).

The Southwark Choices team can help if you or a young person you know is finding it difficult to stay in, or make the transition out of, school.
