Flaxyard Site - Lot B
Project details
A new build development spread over three separate blocks, delivering 120 affordable homes; 98 of which will be new council homes. One of the blocks will house a ground floor commercial unit and the site will accommodate 11 car parking spaces mainly for the wheel chair units. There will also be child play space provision.

In 2015
- a feasibility study was undertaken by Levitt Bernstein Architects which showed 120 new homes could be delivered on the site, along with commercial retail space.
- the council held their first public consultation in July 2015 presenting initial design proposals for feedback
- the council began a tender exercise to procure a development partner to deliver Lot B
In 2016
- the council held a second public consultation on line between March - April incorporating stakeholder/local resident feedback
- between June - September meetings were held with various local stakeholder groups
- the council held a public exhibition in July presenting the final proposal for planning submission
- the council submitted a planning application in September
In 2017
- in March planning committee gave a resolution to grant planning
- in April, Clarion Housing Group entered into a partnership arrangement with the council to deliver Lot B
Next steps
- early 2018, secure full planning consent for development
- early 2018 Clarion will procure contractual building works for the development of the site
- early 2018, Clarion will take handover of the site from the council so works can begin on the development
Sumner House - Lot B
Project details
A refurbishment scheme to the existing Sumner House building to deliver 48 new homes for private sale with off road parking.
