Self and custom build register
The self and custom build register helps us to:
- identify demand for self and custom build plots
- understand where people would like their plot to be
- understand the types of homes people would like to build
Self-build housing means that you're directly involved in organising the design and construction of your new home. Custom build means working with a specialist developer to help deliver your home. There may be overlap between the two. For example, some custom build developers offer the option of a serviced plot. You can design and build your own home as part of a larger scheme.
The register explores ways to bring plots to people who want them. We also have a duty to consider the register before making a decision to sell land that we own.
We currently have 224 people on the register.
