Article 4 Direction: B1a to Residential (C3)

The council introduced an article 4 direction for the removal of the permitted development right for a change of use from light industrial premises to new homes in the Central Activities Zone (CAZ). The consultation on the introduction of the direction will run for 6 weeks from 29 March to 10 May 2018.

Old Kent Road Business Engagement Programme

Following the council’s early engagement with the local business community in the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area and our consultation on the first draft of the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan (AAP) we will continue to engage with local businesses in the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area. The council consulted formally on the Proposed Submission Version of the New Southwark Plan between December - February 2018.

Bermondsey revised neighbourhood area boundary

The council is now consulting on a revised neighbourhood area boundary on behalf of the Old Bermondsey Village Neighbourhood Forum. Consultation will run for 6 weeks and closes 1 February 2018.

Herne Hill neighbourhood planning application

The London Borough of Lambeth and the London Borough of Southwark received an application from the Herne Hill Forum seeking designation as a neighbourhood forum and for a neighbourhood area for the purposes of neighbourhood planning. A joint consultation on the application ran for 6 weeks from 31 July 2017 and 11 September 2017.

Article 4 Direction: Light industrial to dwellings

The council introduced an article 4 direction for the removal of the permitted development right for a change of use from light industrial premises to new homes on the 28 September 2017. The consultation on the introduction of the direction ran for 6 weeks from 28 September to 9 November 2017. 

New Southwark Plan: New and amended policies preferred option

The council consulted on an 'interim' set of new and amended policies, site allocation and a new area vision (for Crystal Palace and Gipsy Hill) for the New Southwark Plan between June – September 2017.

Old Kent Road Area Action Plan: New and amended policies preferred option

Consultation on the first draft of the Old Kent Road AAP/OAPF ran from June to November 2016.

The council consulted on an 'interim' set of new and amended policies and site allocations for the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan preferred option between June to September 2017.

Draft Revised CIL Charging Schedule

Following the consultation on the preliminary draft CIL charging schedule between June and November 2016, the council undertook the next round of consultation on the draft revised CIL charging schedule between 30 January and 13 March 2017. The revised charging schedule seeks to reflect the impact of the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area designation. You can find out more about this here.
