Supplementary planning documents (SPDs)

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) contain guidance that expands on the policies within our development plan, showing how the council expects our planning policies to be addressed by planning applications, and how the policies will be implemented by the council when making decisions on planning applications. The following chapters consist of the currently adopted SPDs for planning topics.

The guidance contained within SPDs is not formally part of the development plan and is given less weight when making planning decisions.

You can view our current SPDs in the following chapters. For past SPDs, please visit the historic plans and guidance page.
