Supplementary planning documents (SPDs)

Our Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) provide extra guidance about the policies in our Development Plan. SPDs explain how we expect our planning policies to be taken into account when you make a planning application. SPDs also set out how we will use the policies when making decisions on your planning applications.

The guidance in our SPDs is not formally part of the development plan and is given less weight when making planning decisions.
