Conservation areas

West Square

The West Square Conservation Area is located to the north-west of the borough and is a mixed area containing a number of notable terraces of good quality late Georgian and mid-19th century houses, with a number of significant public buildings. West Square at the heart of the conservation area is one of the earliest surviving Georgian Squares in South London. The Imperial War Museum, with its surrounding parkland; Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, is the centrepiece of the conservation area. St George’s Roman Catholic Cathedral is another important building.
