Conservation areas

Elliots Row

The Elliott’s Row Conservation Area is located to the south of St. George’s Road and to the west of the Elephant and Castle town centre. The main body of the conservation area is bounded by West Square Conservation Area to its west, Brook Drive to its south and Oswin Street and the town centre to its east. A small part of the potential conservation area extends to the north of St. George’s Road. This element is bound by Prospect House to its west, London Road to its north, Perronet House to its east and Laurie House to its south. This is a cohesive townscape comprising development from throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. The historic street layout remains, creating a legible and permeable environment. Well-defined streets are a feature with high quality and architecturally interesting frontage development. This is a highly urban environment with little in the way of soft landscaping.
