Cycle route design standards

We have produced a set of standards to guide the design of new designated cycle routes in parks in Southwark. Extensive research into best practice, guidance and experiences has shaped the design standards, as well as consultation. The document is available to download:

Equalities Impact Assessment (EQIA)

As part of the research to create the Design Standards, an EQIA was undertaken, which assesses the impact of the Design Standards and the proposed design of Quietway routes in Burgess Park on groups with protected characteristics in relation to the Equality Act. It focuses on the impact on older and disabled people and also how the policy/standard affects parents with small children. The EQIA report can also be downloaded:

The first new cycle route to be built to these standards is Quietway 7 in Burgess Park.
