Release your clamped vehicle
Find out what to do if your vehicle is clamped.
If your vehicle has been issued a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) for parking in breach of regulations, it may be clamped or removed under the Traffic Management Act 2004, Part 6.
Have a clamp removed
If your vehicle is clamped, you need to pay:
- a £100 clamping fee
- the PCN fine (between £55 and £160)
It is a crime to try to remove the clamp yourself.
To pay you will need to call APCOA Old Kent Road Pound on:
- 020 7635 9478, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
After you pay, a Civil Enforcement Officer will remove the clamp, usually within two hours.
Challenge the PCN and clamping
If you think your vehicle was wrongly clamped, you can challenge this decision by sending a representation by:
- email to parking@southwark.gov.uk
- write to:
London Borough of Southwark

You can make a formal representation after your vehicle has been released. If your challenge is refused, you may appeal to the Environment and Traffic Adjudicator at London Tribunals.
Unclaimed vehicles
If your vehicle remains clamped on the highway we may remove your vehicle to our vehicle storage facility. We may dispose of any unclaimed vehicles.
