Recover your removed vehicle

What to do If you think that your vehicle has been removed.

If you think that your vehicle has been removed, contact Tow-away Removal and Clamping Enquiries (TRACE)

TRACE can also be contacted on 0300 077 0100. This is a free 24-hour service.

They can confirm if your vehicle has been removed and where it has been taken.

For cars removed by us, you will need to pay a removal fee before you can recover your vehicle.

You have 24 hours to collect your vehicle. After that, you will be charged £40 per day for storage.

To make a payment, call our Parking Customer Service Centre on 0800 138 9081 or 0344 800 2736, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

You must pay

  • a £280 removal fee
  • the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) cost (ranging from £55 to £160)
  • any storage fees at £55 per day

Always check your vehicle’s current location with TRACE before collecting it.

You'll need to bring:

  • photographic ID (passport or driving licence)
  • proof that you own the vehicle (V5C registration certificate or insurance certificate)
  • proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)

If you've hired the vehicle, bring the hire agreement.

You should provide a letter on headed paper, showing the company address and confirming that you have the company’s permission to collect the vehicle.
