Young people aged 12 to 19 are being invited down to a FREE special event showcasing all that Southwark has to offer in terms of services and activities for young people.
The Youth Festival will take place at Peckham Levels on Friday 30 May from 11am to 6pm and will launch Southwark Council’s new-look One Hub website.
Cllr Portia Mwangangye, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Parks and Young People, said: “The council and its partners across the borough work together to provide our young people with opportunities, activities and support they need to make sure they have the best start in life. The council funds around 20 partner services for young people as well as running its own youth centres, Young Advisors, Youth Parliament and much, much more.
“From leisure services to mental health to jobs and training, we have a wide range of things young people can take advantage of and the aim of the One Hub website is so that young people have all this information at the click of a button. The idea of this event is to showcase just some of the examples of services that are available and encourage young people to come down, see what is available to them and hopefully have some fun, show off their talents, make memories and meet new people too.”
The event will include workshops on using social media and podcasting, music, food and activities throughout the day – all for free.
If you are interested in joining us please register on our Eventbrite page.
Please note, spaces on workshops are limited and will be offered on a first come, first served basis on the day.
