Southwark is set to come alive this summer with a vibrant programme of free and low-cost events for all ages – and residents are invited to join the fun and share what they love most about their neighbourhoods.
From music festivals and art workshops to family fun days and library adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Residents are encouraged to come along to these events and take a look at what’s happening in their local neighbourhood.
Cllr Portia Mwangangye Cabinet Member for Leisure, Parks and Young People said:
"We’re proud to offer a fantastic line-up of free and low-cost events across Southwark this summer. It’s a chance for everyone to come together, enjoy their local area, and celebrate everything that makes our borough so special. Whether you're into music, art, or family fun, there’s something for you right in your neighbourhood."
Love Southwark encourages residents to share their favourite local spots, stories, and suggestions for how to make their communities even better. Whether it’s a beloved park, a friendly neighbour, or a hidden gem café, Southwark wants to hear what makes your area special and what you’d like to see improved.
Cllr Joseph Vambe, Deputy Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods said:
"We are launching a new neighbourhoods model, investing £3.31 million in neighbourhood funding, which will be available to bid for from September 2025.
"This is a new chapter for how we work with our communities. We’re moving away from the old ward model to one that truly reflects how people live, connect and organise locally.
"Our new neighbourhoods’ approach is all about putting local people in the driving seat. From shaping community plans to deciding how local funding is spent. This isn’t just consultation…it’s collaboration.”
