Message from Southwark Council Leader, Councillor Sarah King following today’s Manchester synagogue attack.

Councillor Sarah King, Leader of Southwark Council, said:

“We are horrified by the violent attacks on a Manchester synagogue today. What should have been a sacred day of reflection was shattered by a brutal act. Our heartfelt sympathies go to the families and friends of those affected, and the whole Jewish community.

"In Southwark, we stand united against hate and division. We are proud of the diversity of our borough and stand shoulder to shoulder with the Jewish community against antisemitism.

"Together with the police, patrols are being stepped up in key areas across Southwark and London to provide visible reassurance and support."

To report an emergency hate crime call 999. For non-emergency related incident call 101 or visit the Metropolitan Police website for more information.
