Help transform where you live with £3.3 million Neighbourhood Grants

Neighbourhood grant

Southwark Council has launched a £3.3 million Neighbourhood Grants to help residents and organisations improve their local areas.

People across Southwark are invited to turn ideas for local improvements – such as community events, tree planting or better facilities – into reality.

Residents, community groups and local organisations can apply for funding through a single application form.

Cllr Joseph Vambe, Deputy Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “We want local people to be at the heart of all we do and this funding is all about turning local ideas into action.

“Whether you're passionate about greening your estate, creating safe spaces for young people or celebrating your community, we want to hear from you and support you to make it happen."

Support will also be provided to help applicants identify fundable projects, develop proposals and understand the process.

Drop-in support sessions:

  • Thurs 11 Sept, 6–7pm (Online – email neighbourhoodgrants@southwark.gov.uk for the link)
  • Wed 17 Sept, 2–4pm (Tooley Street offices – report to reception)
  • Tues 23 Sept, 2–4pm (Queen’s Road offices – report to reception)

The Neighbourhood Grants aim to support local priorities identified by residents, as part of the new Neighbourhood Plans. For more information, visit  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/community-engagement/grants-and-funding/neighbourhood-grants

Part of the borough’s new neighbourhood approach, the fund includes £1.88 million from the council’s Cleaner Greener Safer fund; £630,000 from the Neighbourhoods Fund and £800,000 from Devolved Highways.
