Library closures

20 March 2020

We have made the difficult decision to close our libraries from Friday 20 March. This follows the latest advice regarding the use of public transport and the need to minimise social interaction. The closures will further safeguard library users and staff against the risk of contracting Covid-19. We know how important Southwark’s libraries are to local people and our dedicated and creative libraries team is working on a programme of activities for residents.

Additionally we are cancelling fines for late returns, and auto renewing books for the full length of closures.
