Library activities for Under 5s

These regular sessions for children aged 0 to 4 are filled with fun, singing, books and rhymes. Children can enjoy themselves and spend time with other children of a similar age. The activities help to developing their concentration, listening and comprehension skills. Craft activities help develop children’s mark making and fine motor skills.

Sessions are free and there's no need to book. Space is limited so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Baby and Toddler sessions include free play, singing, storytelling and a simple craft activity. They last between 45 and 90 minutes.

Rhymetimes sessions include singing, rhymes, rhythm and movement. They last between 30 and 60 minutes.

Bookstart sessions include singing, educational play, storytelling and a simple craft activity. They last between 60 and 90 minutes. Bookstart is a national programme. Sessions also take place at other locations in Southwark.
