Southwark 2030

London Youth Games

Southwark Awards Ceremony

Awards night

On 3 October 2019 young people, team managers, parents and volunteers attended the Canada Water Library to celebrate the London Youth Games, Southwark Sports Awards.

The evening was filled with awarding individuals and teams that represented Team Southwark at London Youth Games. Recognising the hard work, dedication and commitment they all made to sport. This year the event was dedicated to Team Southwark, individuals took to the stage to share their journey whether they won or lost. Whilst helping Team Southwark achieve 13th Place out of all London Boroughs.

Crystal Ezeukaegbu 15 from Notre Dame School delivered a fantastic speech thanking Southwark Council for her amazing opportunity of completing work experience, her involvement in preparation and delivery of London Youth Games.

The event was also attended by the Mayor of Southwark who awarded winners of each category ‘what and amazing event the young people that took part are extremely talented, to witness the actual games and now reward them was fantastic’.

We're now preparing for the first event of the London Youth Games 2020, Cross Country. The trials take place on 10 October 2019 at Peckham Rye Park, with the team selected attending Parliament Hill in the Finals on 16 November 2019.
