Active Southwark Olympic Legacy Fund

This fund is being offered to local organisations to help with the delivery of sport and physical activity that people do on a regular basis, especially for people that aren’t able to be active regularly (please note this funding is for equipment and facilities, see examples below).

During the period 2021 to 2024, £2 million of capital funding will be available for the Southwark community to apply for during specific application rounds. The Active Southwark Legacy Fund is made up of four funding levels:

  • equipment to aid social distancing and COVID-19 mitigations

  • equipment to help increase participant numbers

  • adapted equipment to increase inclusion inactivity

  • IT equipment to support online delivered activity sessions for shielding/isolated residents

25 to 50

Medium

Over £10,000 to £50,000

  • installation of adapted equipment or improved access for deaf and disabled people (ramps, hoists, signs, pool pod)

  • improving playgrounds/games court areas for organised community activity

  • changes to schools building that create better community access (new entrances to the site)

  • changes to open spaces for physical activity (installing a large screen showing workouts)

  • painting communal spaces

50 to 250

Large

Over £50,000 to £150,000

  • large-scale facility development that will bring residents together

  • building enhancements that benefit whole communities

  • building development that will benefit whole communities

  • innovative improvements to spaces for physical activity

250 plus

The next round will open Friday 29 September 2023 at 9am, it is open for micro, small, medium and large applications. It closes Friday 17 November 2023 at 9pm
