Housing Repairs Alpha

Housing Repairs Alpha blog/update

Following a productive discovery phase, we were successful in securing funding from the Local Digital Fund to move on to an alpha phase for online housing repairs.

This time we are working with three partners, continuing our relationship with City of Lincoln and welcoming Greenwich and South Kesteven. We will be running the alpha to understand what an end to end common service pattern for Housing Repairs would look like. We will also test design options with users to ensure we solve the whole problem for our customers.

How we found a delivery partner

Finding a suitable supplier to help us deliver the project was quite the task! Given the time pressures we decided to post the opportunity on the Digital Marketplace and to invite suitable suppliers to apply via this route. We specified that the supplier should be able to deliver the project in line with Local Digital Declaration principles, have experience of working to the service design manual and demonstrate a track record of user-centred design and Agile approaches.

We received almost 20 submissions by the closing date. The project team comprised of staff from all four partner authorities, who worked collaboratively to create a longlist in 24 hours! Three days later we had a shortlist of four suppliers, who were invited to submit a written proposal and attend an interview. During the hour long interview they had to present to a panel with representatives from the partner authorities and answer questions on their submitted proposal and presentation.

The standard of all presentations and written proposals was high, which made it quite difficult to make a final choice. All four shortlisted suppliers exhibited good competency and a variety of strengths, however the Panel’s scoring was unanimous after both individual assessment and combined discussions. There could only be one and it was agreed that the supplier who met all the requirements most comprehensively was The Dextrous Web Ltd T/A DXW Digital…Congratulations to the team!
