Affordable housing audits
The first affordable housing audit took place in 2017. All Registered Providers (RPs) operating in Southwark were contacted by the council and required to submit full details of their affordable housing unit stock. The results of the audit confirmed 11,999 affordable homes managed by RPs in Southwark, and that 4,320 affordable units were secured by S106 legal agreements since 2001. The second affordable housing audit took place in early 2021. During this audit, the council requested further details on affordable housing unit stock to include building type, bedroom numbers, a breakdown of tenure, and wheelchair accessibility. The council received details of over 16,000 affordable homes during this audit. This data is currently being collated and prepared for input to the affordable housing monitoring tool.
