Welcome in the New Year with Newington Temporary Library which sees them host lots of extra events and promotions for all the family. Located within the vibrant Artworks community there's an opportunity to enjoy an elecectic mix of retail, food and drink whilst choosing a book or DVD to take home.

There's no need to book in advance for any of these events.

  • 2015 calendar making, Saturday 3 January 2015, 2pm to 3.30pm. Age 4+
  • Telling tales: stories from around the world, Sunday 4 January 2015, 2pm to 3pm. Age 4+
  • Cubecraft Minecraft, Thursday 8 January 2015, 4pm to 5pm. Age 7+ 
  • Adult book group,  Friday 9 January 2015,  7pm to 8pm. Adults only.
  • Diary books and diary making, Saturday 10 January 2015, 2pm to 3.30pm. Age 4+
  • Creative trees, Monday 12 January 2015, 2pm to 3pm. Age 4+
  • Books and me, Tuesday 13 January 2015, 11am to 12pm. Adults only.
  • Icicles and snowflakes: Jack Frost storytelling and craft session, Wednesday 14 January 2015, 4pm to 5pm. Age 4+
  • Telling tales: stories from around the world, Thursday 15 January 2015, 2pm to 3pm. Age 4+
  • Winnie the Pooh "Teddy bears" picnic, Saturday 17th January 2015, 11am to 3.30pm. Age 4+
  • Winter warmers mitten, Sunday 18 January 2015, 2pm to 3pm. Age 4+
  • Dragon craft, Monday 19 January 2015, 4pm to 5pm. Age 4+
  • Bi-lingual Spanish-English baby and toddler session, Thursday 22 January 2015, 10.30am to 11.15am. Age: under 5s
  • Bi-lingual Spanish-English storytime, Friday 23 January 2015, 4pm to 5pm. Age 4+
  • Spanish book collection launch: Spanish fiesta, Saturday 24 January 2015, 1pm to 4pm. All ages welcome.
  • Winter pillows, Sunday 25 January 2015, 2pm to 3pm. Age 4+
  • 'Lest We Forget': poetry from the First World War, Monday 26 January 2015, 11am to 12pm. Staff from Newington Temporary Library will be dropping in to Darwin Court to read and share poetry from the First World War with residents and visitors.
  • Winter quiz, Wednesday 28 January 2015. Running all day. Children's and adult versions available from staff.
  • Poetry book group: winter rhymes and animals in winter, Thursday 29 January 2015, 7pm to 8pm. Adults only.
  • Celebrate National Storytelling Week with Sandra Agard, Saturday 31 Janauary 2015, 2pm to 3.30pm. All ages welcome.
