What are Local Housing Forums
Everyone who lives in a council home, including council owned temporary accommodation, can attend their Local Housing Forum. At these meetings, you can take part in discussions with council officers and councillors on a wide range of housing related topics. Subjects may include how the council can better spend funding on improving homes and estates or how the council allocates homes.
Local meetings are a place where you can have your say on important council policy changes. You can also find out how the council is doing in services like repairs, new homes building and major works.
Please note that these meetings are not the appropriate place to raise personal housing queries. Email your personal query and it will be forwarded to the relevant council department.
LHFs were originally planned to be face to face meetings, however, due to the current pandemic situation, these meetings will now be held virtually. For more details on how to register, visit your relevant area page.
Feel free to read through our Feedback and Lessons Learnt report from the first round of LHF meetings in July 2020.
The council will run an annual residents’ poll at the start of the year to help inform the topics that they'll have on their agendas.

Local Housing Forum meetings dates
The Resident Participation Team would like to apologise for the delay in publishing details of upcoming Local Housing Forum (LHF) meetings. We plan to hold an initial meeting with LHF Chairs to discuss when and how these events will take place in terms of format i.e. virtually, face-to-face or a mixture of both (hybrid-meetings). Once details have been confirmed, you will find updated information on this page and an email notification will be sent to all residents on our mailing lists. In the meantime, please bear with us and we’ll be in touch with you soon!
All the best,
Southwark Resident Participation Team
