Heat networks

We have over 100 heat networks boroughwide that provide heating and hot water to around 17,000 homes.

Our low carbon heat network systems are made up of:

• a large central boiler house
• underground mains (distribution pipes) 
• plant rooms on an estate
• above-ground distribution pipes within blocks
• dwelling systems (pipes, radiators, fan units and hot water supply)

Communal heating has a lower impact on air quality compared with individual boilers so is better for the environment.
