Find out how to help a vulnerable Southwark resident who can’t leave the house due to COVID-19, who may not have friends, family or neighbours who can support them.
One-stop COVID-19 support available in Southwark
We host the Community Support Alliance – a joint initiative with local charities, the local NHS and GP surgeries to provide residents with key COVID-19 information in one place. Once you have contacted the alliance, you may be referred to the voluntary and community sector or number of our partners that offer support , depending on your need. We will not share you information with other partners unless this is needed, and you give your consent.
How the Southwark Community Support Alliance can provide help
Let us know if you or someone else you know needs help to arrange essential supplies. This could be due to being unable to leave the house due to COVID-19, or if you:
- are not sure how to get help for someone you know
- need support around your mental and physical wellbeing
- if you need support with your financial situation
- want to know about getting help from, or volunteering with, voluntary groups in your area

The COVID-19 support line is open: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Advice if you are clinically extremely vulnerable
You can register your details on the government website if you are clinically vulnerable. The government has produced guidance on shielding and protecting people who are clinically extremely vulnerable from COVID-19.
This provides general guidance and the latest restriction-specific guidance.
Getting access to food
Contact us if you are vulnerable and:
- need someone to deliver food to you
- don’t have enough money for food or to meet your basic needs
- need help with accessing council services
