Coronavirus (COVID-19): Children and Family Centres service update
Due to government restrictions in light of the coronavirus pandemic and the advice for everyone to stay at home, our children and family centres are currently closed. We know that this is a challenging time for families and we are continuing to provide support for families who may be struggling.
Online resources
- our partner 1st Place Centre have created an online hub where you can find advice, guidance and activities to support you and your family during this difficult situation
- you can find a variety of videos that are suitable for children under 5 and their families on our YouTube channel. New videos will be available each day
- The Parents and Children Together (PACT) whole family support service has created a range of virtual resources for children under 5 and their families including activities, videos and advice
- Coin Street Community Trust’s online hub for children over 5 and their families offers a range of information, advice and activities
Community health services
- all community health services are reducing face to face appointments and moving to telephone/virtual appointments instead. This will help allow NHS staff to be moved to hospitals and other areas as required
- routine childhood immunisations are still taking place and appointments should be kept where possible. If you are concerned about immunisations or you have other questions about your child’s health you should contact your GP
- you can find more information on accessing health care during the COVID-19 pandemic on our public health webpages. This includes advice for parents on where and when to seek help if your child is ill
Family support service
- we are contacting all families who receive one to one support and discussing their support needs on a case by case basis. This may include face to face, video or telephone contact
