COVID-19 Financial support for businesses

The government and the council offer financial support to help businesses affected by COVID-19, including the following:

Business rates relief

At the budget on 27 October 2021, the chancellor announced a new business rates relief scheme for retail, hospitality and leisure properties.

The 2022-23 Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Business Rate Relief Scheme will provide eligible occupied retail, hospitality and leisure properties with a 50% relief, up to a cash cap limit of £110,000 per business.

Government-backed loans

The Recovery Loan Scheme provides financial support to UK businesses as they grow and recover from the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.
