Holding COVID-19 safe events

Find out what the latest advice is on how to hold outdoor events safely and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at events

You can help to protect your attendees, staff, suppliers, and volunteers by encouraging them to do the following at events, to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  1. Get a COVID-19 vaccine – it’s still the best way to prevent being seriously ill
  2. Avoid others if you have symptoms of respiratory infection (most people aren’t testing now, so you may not know if it’s COVID-19), or if you get a positive COVID-19 test result
  3. Hold events outside if possible
  4. Let fresh air in if elements of your event are indoors
  5. Wear a face covering in crowded or enclosed spaces
  6. Remember to keep washing your hands or use hand sanitiser

We encourage you to follow this advice at your events and share it with people involved or attending.

Event risk assessments and COVID-19

You don’t need to provide a separate COVID-19 risk mitigation plan. However, we do encourage you to mention ways of reducing the risk of COVID-19 spread in your event risk assessment.
