Open hours:Workshops are on Wednesdays from 7.15pm-9.15pm from September 20th to October 18th. Performances are on the evenings of October 20th and 21st.


This Black History Month in Southwark is all about Black Joy - placing resilience, resistance and reclamation at the heart of Black storytelling.

Led by acclaimed writer, actor and facilitator, Nicole Acquah, these workshops take Black Joy and Black History as the starting points to create and perform original monologues as part of a wider community performance on Blue Elephant’s stage.

A chance to meet new people, develop creative skills and celebrate Black experiences, workshops take place on Wednesday evenings from September 20th to October 18th from 7.15pm to 9.15pm. Performances are on the evenings of October 20th and 21st.

Workshops will be held in our theatre space which is on the ground floor and accessible to wheelchair users. There is an accessible bathroom on the same floor.
