Our members are people aged 60+ from the Afro-Caribbean community in Southwark, in particular
Camberwell, Peckham, Rotherhithe, South Bermondsey and East Walworth.
We currently have 45 older Afro-Caribbean members and through our programmes of
support we are aiming to extend our reach to a total of 75 older people. Our membership database is
supplemented through making contact with other BAME led senior groups and churches. This enables us
to establish information on numbers of the elderly isolated BAME in the area. This includes those from
‘emerging’ migrant communities locally, any organisations involved, those interested in becoming engaged in
activities, or becoming involved as volunteers, to help us develop interesting and informative
programmes of interest.
