Description

The Crystal Palace Festival team invite you to a very special celebration of creativity at the Spirit of the Estate community event. We have been working with local young people as part of this project and this event will showcase the work they have been creating with Grounded Movement.

Celebrating the expressive and creative voice of young people and communities and their aspirations and inspirations. Featuring MC SunSun, DJ DBO and Grounded Movement with Ragtime to Grime we celebrate culturally conscious and socially connected artforms of dance, music and words.

Nadia Rose is our very special guest! A powerfully confident artist with a singular vision, she is as adept as coming up with striking visual concepts for her videos as she is cracking jokes, dancing, singing, or of course, rapping. When her inescapable, effervescent hit Skwod went viral, landing her a MOBO and a place on the BBC Sound of 2017 shortlist, the press immediately began hailing her as UK hip-hop’s next major star.

You can do some spray painting on our live Community Wall of Reflection and Rap with our resident urban artist A.Dee. Find out how to sign up for his free workshops starting from 25 August at the Kingswood Community Shop and get involved in designing and creating a mural for your estate.

This event is FREE for all to attend and is non-ticketed. It is a family friendly show. No food or drink is available onsite so please do bring a picnic. No glass allowed.
