Description

An overview of the trade that was to consume the area of the Borough in the 19th and early 20th Century, focussing on why the industry was so successful in its 'heyday', the main breweries of the time, looking at the work of the hop factor and hop merchant and then a look at the work of the hop picker from preparations to leave for the farm until the end of the season.
