Southwark Fireworks Night is ticketed. The council is keeping the event, which is named one of the best in the capital by visitlondon.com, free for all Southwark residents.

Everyone will have to book a ticket online; these will be free for people who live in Southwark, but because of the risks associated with the night’s huge popularity and the significant cost of bringing Southwark fireworks night to residents, those from outside the borough will have to pay for a ticket.

Tickets will be available to book from 9am on Monday 23 September. Tickets for the event sell out in advance so it’s best to book as quickly as possible to avoid missing out.

When and where is Southwark's fireworks display happening this year?
This year's event will take place on Tuesday 5 November in Southwark Park, London SE16.

What are the opening times?
Doors will open at 5pm and last entry into the event site will be at 6.30pm. This will ensure that everyone is on site and in position to enjoy the fireworks display.

There will be a strict no admittance policy to the event after 6.30pm.

How much are tickets?

For residents;

  • Tickets are free for Southwark residents

For non-residents;

  • £8.50 – Adult tickets for those aged 18 years and over
  • £2.50 – Child tickets for those between 4 and 17 years old
  • Free – Infant tickets for those aged 3 and under
  • £20.00 – Family ticket for 2 adults and up to three children

All tickets must be booked in advance and are subject to availability and our terms and conditions.

All children must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and above.

Do I have to pay a booking fee?
Booking fees apply to non-resident tickets only. Tickets are provided electronically in your booking confirmation email, but if you do request your tickets to be posted there will be a charge of £2.50.

How will voluntary donation money be spent?
All donations will go directly towards paying for the fireworks display.

Do I need to book a ticket for my children?
Yes. Everyone attending must have a ticket, so that we can manage capacity of the event safely. This includes infants.

How many tickets can I book?
A maximum of six tickets can be booked per order. This can include a booking for a family which is a total of five tickets.

Where can I get a ticket from?
Tickets are available to buy online via the ticketing link on this website or by calling 0844 844 0444 calls are charged at 7p per minute

If you do not have access to the internet, please visit any Southwark library where staff will be able to help you book your ticket.

Can I get a ticket on the door?

Can I return my tickets before the event?
Residents can return all or some of the tickets they have booked by emailing events@southwark.gov.uk before 5pm on Wednesday 30 October 2019.

Non-residents tickets are not refundable.

What happens if I arrive without a ticket?
You will not be granted access to the event without a valid ticket. There will be no entertainment, facilities or viewing areas within the surrounding area. We advise members of the public without a ticket to avoid travelling to help alleviate congestion within the area.

Will there be CCTV in operation at the event?
Yes. This includes the use of body-cameras and will be in place for the security of customers to help us control crowds and antisocial behaviour.

Will the event be filmed or photographed?
Yes. We will be filming and photographing inside the event to capture the atmosphere and entertainment to share on our web and social media sites and in any future promotion of this (and other) events by Southwark Council.

By attending the event, you give your express consent to your actual or simulated likeness to be included within any film, photograph, audio and/or audio-visual recording to be exploited in any and all media for any purpose at any time throughout the world. Will there be any parking available at the event?
We strongly advise people not to drive to the event as there will be no parking and many of the surrounding roads will have parking suspensions in place. Please use public transport, plan your journey beforehand and leave yourself enough time to arrive before the last entry time of 6.30pm.

Blue badge holders will be able to use the car park via the Hawkstone Road entrance to the park.

Can I bring pets?
Pets are not permitted at the event. There will be very large dense crowds that will not be suitable for animals.

We understand the affect that fireworks can have on some pets and we fully advocate the RSPCA’s guidance given on this matter. Please visit their website for more details on how to make your pets feel safe during the fireworks period.

Is there anything I can't bring into the event?
Bag and pram searches will be in operation at all entrance gates. Ticket holders are not permitted to bring any of the following items into the event:

  • Fireworks
  • Alcohol
  • Dogs
  • Bikes
  • Glass
  • Weapons

Can I bring sparklers?
Sparklers are permitted at the event but are only to be used under the supervision of a sensible adult. All sparklers are to be extinguished in the sand and water bins provided throughout the site. Any antisocial behaviour may lead to being asked to leave the site.

Will there be a covered area if it rains?
There will be no covered areas within the event site. Remember it is winter, so wrap up warm, wear appropriate clothing and be prepared for wet weather.

What happens if the event is cancelled?
Any communication as a result of the event being cancelled will be communicated by Southwark Council. If you have booked your ticket online, you will be sent an email informing you of a cancellation. What happens to my voluntary donation if the event is cancelled?
If Fireworks Night is cancelled for any reason, all voluntary donations made at the point of booking will be fully refunded. Please follow @SouthwarkEvents on Twitter for updates.

Will the ticketed event area have disabled access for viewing?
Yes. There will be a disabled viewing area located within a prime viewing location of the fireworks display. Event stewards will be able to assist you in locating this area. There will also be there will be a number of accessible portaloos and a Mobiloo unit at this event.

What do I need to bring with me to gain entry to the event?
Tickets must be brought with you and presented at the gate to be scanned. Tickets must be valid and will be accepted in the following formats:

  • E-ticket printed at home.
  • E-ticket on your mobile device.
  • Printed ticket received in the post.

Under no circumstances will anybody be allowed into the event area without a valid ticket.

Will I be able to leave the event site and re-enter at a later time?
No. A no re-entry policy will be in place on the night. You are reminded that the last entry time is strictly 6.30pm. No ticket holders will be allowed to enter after this time, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Will there be a first aid point?
Yes. There will be a first aid within the event area if you require any medical attention. A medical company will be on hand to treat and advise you. Anyone requiring medical assistance should visit the designated on-site first aid points before calling 999, unless the condition is life-threatening. Event stewards will assist you in locating the first aid point.

Will there be food and drinks stalls?
Yes. There will be a great selection of food stalls offering a variety of food, as well as bars offering a selection of beers, wines and spirits, mulled wine and cider. Please note that there are no ATM / cash dispensing facilities in the park.
