Description

Recorded in 1981, the son and daughter of the Bermondsey boxing legend born in 1872 recall growing up with their dad in Bermondsey and Peckham with often hilarious anecdotes and giving the listener a glimpse into a lost way of life in Southwark.Lily and Sid Causer talk about life with their father and how tough it was working and living in the pubs that he owned like the Prince Albert. We also hear why Tom trained the Peckham Police to box for free. A fascinating insight into life in Southwark during the early 20th Century.
