Protecting against flooding

With an understanding of surface water flood risks in the borough obtained from the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment, we've developed a Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP). The SWMP outlines how we intend to manage local flood risk.

We're working through the plan to help reduce flood risks to our residents, businesses and the environment. The SWMP also helped in the development of the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS), which was adopted on 18 August 2015. 

Our Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) covers all sources of flooding.

In emergency flooding situations, we'll do our best to provide sandbags to residents in affected areas to protect their homes and businesses.
